Win Tickets To See Giada, Jacques, Or …

Good news — The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show isn’t just for professionals — and we’d like to send you and a friend for FREE!

Spend an afternoon ogling Emmy Award-winning culinary star Giada De Laurentiis and get her tips on making weeknight cooking a breeze. Maybe celebrity chef Tom Colicchio is more your thing? He’ll join fellow Top Chef judge Gail Simmons to whip up recipes so you can be the judge. Or pop in for the father-daughter duo, Jacques and Claudine Pepin, as Jacques regales with tales of his evolution as a chef peppered with anecdotes from his own life.

You can also catch The Chew’s Carla Hall and Michael Symon, or watch Jeff Mauro as the comedian-turned-chef takes a break from eating his way across America to share his passion for sandwiches with you.

We have four pairs of tickets to the Washington, D.C., show to give to our fellow Eaters. Each pair is worth $200 and includes general admission to the event, running Nov. 3-4.

There are two ways to win: help us spread the word about WTE, or submit a review of your favorite restaurant. And since some of you don’t live in D.C., we’re also offering a foodie basket in each category for out-of-town winners.

HOW TO WIN

Option A: Spread The Word
In the “Share WeTheEaters With Your Friends” box below, click “Continue.” You’ll be asked for your email address and your name (and an opt-in for our super-awesome-coming-soon newsletter — use the bar on the right to scroll down and sumbit). Your email address will not be shared with anyone — this is how we track referrals only! You’ll then receive a unique link to share via email, or directly on Facebook, Twitter, and the like. The person you share it with must actually click the link and visit We The Eaters for the referral to count. The top two “refer-ers” will each win a pair of tickets.

Option B: Submit A Review
We aim for WTE to become a community site. As such, we need our fellow Eaters to contribute. Help us, and your fellow readers, by contributing a review of your favorite restaurant for our “On the Road” page, launching Dec 1. Where do you love to eat? Where do you recommend for the best bahn mi, tacos or mac n’ cheese? Submit your unique review of up to 500 words with a photo for a restaurant in the U.S. or beyond. Please provide a link to the restaurant with your work. And please, no cut and paste reviews or images from the Internet … we can’t use it unless you wrote it, or you took it!

And don’t worry — you don’t have to be a professional or a practiced writer. If you’re passionate about food and can be descriptive about your experience, our editorial team can help you polish. Email your review, a phot of the restaurant and or your favorite dish, along with your contact information, to WTEMetroCookingContest@wetheeaters.com. Put “Metro Cooking Contest Submission” in the subject line. The top two submissions will receive a set of tickets to the event.

RULES:
All submissions or referrals must be received by midnight on Wed., Oct. 31, 2012. Winners will be announced on the site Thursday, November 1.

For Option A, all referred visitors must be unique. That means you can’t click the link a hundred times. Our software knows. It is magical. So we suggest sending personalized emails to your contacts (I don’t like clicking links in mass emails, do you?).

We’ll also be launching our newsletter in November, and if you’re one of the top word-spreaders out there, you’ll see your name in it. So will your family and friends, as such, you must agree to us sharing it there. (And when you receive your newsletter, please help us build the Eaters network by sharing it!)

For Option B, you attest that your submission is your original work. That goes for text and pictures. If you submit a review, you give WTE the rights to publish it on our website, giving you credit for your work, without any expectation of compensation now or in the future. You do not have to win to have your entry published, but we also cannot promise that all submissions will be published on the site. Please let us know when you send your entry if you’d like to be considered to write for us in the future!

WTE is not affiliated with The Metropolitan Cooking Show or its affiliates. These tickets were donated to us to be given away to WTE readers. Any views expressed by the Metropolitan Cooking Show do not necessarily reflect those of WTE.
